Paul Mayson earned both praise and success for his genre-bending approach to dance music and the ability to effortlessly fuse electronic music with live instrumentation and traditional pop songwriting, creating an ongoing series of radio-friendly dance pop crossover anthems.
Hailing from the Netherlands, the young producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist grew up in a highly musical environment playing in bands and experimenting with electronic production. Mayson kick-started his musical career with the release of 'Pray', his debut single featuring multi-platinum supergroup Far East Movement. Follow-up single 'Want Me', sampling Aretha Franklin's classic 'Chain of Fools', quickly found its way up the Spotify charts and passed six million streams on the platform, while gaining radio airplay around Europe.
Working with many of the leading electronic artists and label imprints, Paul subsequently released his single 'Paralyzed' and debut EP ‘Run’ on Don Diablo's label imprint Hexagon and Spinnin' Records. The project received praise from industry heavyweights and tastemaker media. Mayson continued his string of high profile releases with ‘Letting You Go’ and ‘Ain’t Got Love’ via PRMD/Warner Music Group. In the meantime he also successfully remixed singles for the likes of Nathan Sykes and Sam Feldt, the latter remix gaining a spot on the SiriusXM Radio Playlist in the US.
Paul conveys his musical passion to global dance floors in a way very few artists can. See him and you will understand. Embodying what dance music and club culture was originally about, his DJ sets are an infectious and charismatic showcase packed with highly danceable grooves, a feel-good environment. He has headlined solo tours and festival runs across Europe and Asia over the past years.
Known for his versatility as a producer and songwriter, often leaving his own studio in The Netherlands for writing trips to LA and London, Paul was also involved in co-writing and co-producing releases for multi-platinum pop and hip-hop artists such as Yelawolf, Far East Movement and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
For his own work he is opting for a strikingly refreshing and organic approach to electronic music. 'I’m passionate about pushing boundaries and writing songs that fuse my dance music roots with organic sounds and influences from indie, pop, rock and even disco. I love the energy and drive of dance music, but I also truly love writing songs and lyrics, and the organic feeling that live instrumentation adds to my records. Bringing all these different worlds and cultures together is what excites me most.’
